Computer and cats in Sacramento is a fun blog to write about. As I was starting to write, my cat, Kits, jumped up onto my computer tower. It is positioned right behind the monitor. He looked over the top and was playing hide and seek. This photo is worth a 1000 words. The good news, I’m not going to write 1000 words, lol.
The joys of working from home are the cats keep me smiling. Kits is a purebred male Ragdoll cat. I own his mother and father, so I have had him since the day he was born. The cats often come and sit right in front of monitor, I call it the command center.
Inspiration for writing a blog 7 days per week, necessary? Some days there are some very interesting occurrences that are really fun to write about. Some days it may not be fun at all. A blog could be about an escrow with a very difficult agent, who made you want to pull your hair out. Sometimes frustration provides fuel for interesting dialogue and a great conversation online.
Some days there may not be an exciting topic at all, as nothing exciting comes to mind. As you write, the topic begins to bloom and the words just come. A title and the photo are the key ingredients for your blog. Picking the right photo is part of the process. A great photo provides a visual cue that may help engage a reader.
August is birthday month for this Wilton Realtor. I pre-celebrated today at lunch with my step-sister, Nanci Beall. We went to Cafe Bernardo and had a wonderful time, Nanci’s treat. She also made me an amazing picture with stars. Looking up at the stars at night is my favorite thing to do. We get so busy in real estate working we often forget to even eat lunch and enjoy the stars in the wee hours. I’m going out tonight just after midnight to look up at the sky, to enjoy the sparkling stars.
A blog a day keeps the doctor away, or is it is “an apple a day keeps the doctor away?” Either way, both blogging and eating an apple a day are healthy things to do. I try to do both, and sometimes I do them together. Late at night, when I’m preparing to write a blog, and I really want to eat a candy bar or a big bowl of ice cream, instead I often grab a big fat juicy apple and put my laptop in dictation talk -to- text mode.
Terrific Tuesday ended today upon arrival home from work at 10:30 PM. I had a late appointment in another county with a 90-year-old, very sharp client. She wanted to review all of the disclosures and of course that took several hours. This was one of those 5-hour appointments that can happen on a few occasions. There was a lot to see as the HOA area is as large as a small city and has an amazing lake. This community has everything, but then that is another blog post.
When you sit down, finding the words to write a blog entails finding something that seems interesting to you. When I’m interested in a topic the words come easily. Do you know exactly what you are going to say or do you wing it? Some people, I hear, prepare an outline, spread out Post-It notes, open related books to bookmarked pages, scour the Internet for fact-checking and even then, they face a blank screen with a blinking mouse.
I find my best writing comes when I let my fingers do the typing. If I give a topic too much thought, I might never write it. So, I let the words fall where they may because I can always go back and clean them up later. You know, to write a blog always remove all the profanity. 🙂 Just kidding!
